Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to check a builder in NSW?

An independent builder background check with Helios Project Management costs a fixed fee of $495 inc. GST. That covers licence and registration verification, insurance and home warranty checks, company history and financial red-flag screening, and dispute history review — with a written risk assessment and clear recommendation issued within 48 hours.

What information do I need to provide?

Just the builder’s business name, licence number if you have it, and any quote or contract front pages they have given you. After you book and pay online, you can upload everything securely in a couple of minutes — or email it to admin@heliospm.au.

How fast will I get the report?

Your written vetting report is issued within 48 hours of receiving your builder’s details. If we need anything else to complete the checks, we will contact you the same day.

What happens after I book online?

You pay the fixed fee securely by card, then upload the builder’s details straight away. Our consultant runs the full set of checks and your written risk assessment and recommendation follows within 48 hours. Phone and email support is included if you want to talk through the findings.

What does the risk assessment and recommendation cover?

Your report ends with a plain-English risk assessment and recommendation: proceed with confidence, proceed with specific precautions, or do not proceed. No jargon, no hedging — a clear answer you can act on.

Can you check a builder outside NSW?

Our vetting service is built around NSW licensing, insurance and dispute records. If your builder operates in another state, contact us first and we will confirm what we can verify before you book.

Should I also get the contract reviewed?

Many clients pair the builder check with our fixed-fee building contract review. Vetting tells you if the builder is safe to engage; the contract review makes sure the deal you sign protects you.
